The SE boss has said that SE are betting that their growth will come from media rich 3G services. They have also hinted that they will use their technology to access Sony's media. They also believe that downloading illegal media can be stopped by software protection in new phones. This message was posted from a Nokia

The time could come to realise your wishes. Hope to make it possible in the future to upload a fw after my choice in a fone, i mean i buy a handset and upload r520 fw on it. That would be great. Or just to use my fone in /// style. Its not a big deal. This message was posted from a R520

I think he stated his opinion clearly

The way forward is most definitely connectivity and inter-connectivity between manufacturers. People want devices that will be able to do things they really want e.g.

Connect to the Internet, not WAP.
Do what our spikey haired, raw fish eating , gadget loving Japanese friends do and be bale to buy things with one's phone.
Have access to multimedia that actually works and doesn't take so long to download that your car's tax disc needs renewed.
Video calling that is easy and simple and that doesn't require the phone to use batteries large enough to double up as a stool in case you get tired.
The ability to watch television on the phone and at a high level of quality, again without the need for batteries requiring the mass breeding of hamsters and the mass production of excercise wheels to supplement power levels.
Large memory capacity in phones so that films, music, pictures, documents, etc can be stored.
GPS systems that work well and efficiently.
Cameras that take high-res pictures comparable with digitial cameras.

I know this list is somewhat fanciful in places, but it isn't all that far fetched. Already many, if not all of these features have been featured to some extent in various countries around the world (read mostly Japan).
Its a strange situation we have come to that we now expect so much from our mobile phones when only a few years ago I was rather chuffed to see that One2One had introduced text messaging. Perhaps we shouldn't call them mobile phones any longer, they are more than just phones already.

I am not a fan of japanese brands, but here are some members maybe from there, so your comment of their look isnt very diplomatic as i see. We can blame brands but not ppl. This message was posted from a R520
