I was wondering if anyone knows of any software for the p900 that gives you directions etc like the Tom Thumb GPS system? It may not exist yet, but was hoping someone outhere might know of anything?

Thanks

Theres a system called Wayfinder ( www.wayfinder.com ) plus theres loads of revies and furthuer info out there.

Also if you search these forums for Wayfinder you will dig up some stuff too.

If you buy wayfinder be sure to report your findings back, I'm thinking of getting it for over the summer but cant decide if its worth it.

Just seen on www.pocketgps.co.uk that one of the best SatNav software available is coming to the P900 in Q32004. Namely TomTom Navigator - not sure which version, but probably version 3.

ShouId be worth waiting for. :-]

The 2 Way Finder bundles cost €250 - €500 surely it's would be cheaper just to buy a hand held gps??

Not really - I'd expect the software to cost about £80-100 and you can get a BT GPS for about £175 max.

The main thing is to reduce the number of devices\gadgets in your pocket - this keeps it as simple as it could be.

I bought wayfinder for £250 from www.pdamods.com I am very happy with it. Best to use the SE stereo headset to listen to voice instructions and make calls.

I have the Wayfinder software installed on my P900.

I ind the price to be reasonable - and to me the main thing was to be able to use the same devices again, not just carrya roudn another device.

Have had it for a month now, and utilized it alot... It is very precise and accurate in it's directions - really down to the last meter!
Basically it works without any major problems:
Had to install it over a couple of times to make it work, and I had a few problem with the software rebooting the phone when I exited the wayfinder application.
I contacted the vendor (Wayfinder in Sweden), and the have been very helpfull in sorting things out.

One thing though: To see the application (directions and maps, you have to have the phone in "flip open" mode - no visual help with the phone in "flip closed". You will still hear the voice directions - just not see the visual help.

I can really recommend the Wayfinder if you are looking for a working GPS solution for your P8/900, and are ready to spend the bucks. Its worth it.

Hope this also will work on the "P1000" whenever we will see that phone.
