When installing the modem the choice of IR port does not show, only COM port 1 shows in the choices, any clues

You *must* have the phone aligned and communicating with the computer's Ir windows *before* any of the virtual COM ports will appear.

I had aligned and put the IR in Active. I was a user of Nokia and had no problems with it, But this T 68i is not showing the choices of the ports except COM 1

No, Actually I can dial up from the network and dial up connection as in that option I do not choose the T68i modem as there is an option for IR Modem. So it works with it. But when I go to the Modem settings Then there is T68i modem on com 1 only. Therefore I can not use any dialing programes like Fax. etc

Ah, I'm not sure if I get you right.
Are you saying that you can now use the Phone as a modem but you can't make other programs run when it's connected (via IR) to your PC?

What I am saying is that it only works with the dial up network but not with other programs like Microsoft Outlook to send fax. Also if I go to the Control Pannel and open Modems and try to coumminacate with the modem it does not do it.

hmm, you probably noticed that you can't communicate with the modem when it's in use.
What error message do you get when you try to use it from outlook, etc?
