Hi Jus have a T610, with the R1A software.
1. When ever i switch a sim card with a friedn the smses get deleted. Wats the problem. WILL GETTING THE software upgraded stop this. Or is there a procedure to follow, I shutdown my phone properly.
2. Also I am using the FMA float software, Cant seem to get my sms back in phones inbox. Smses go to the archive folder, on the sim which is of no use as my sim a capacity to store 10 sms's. When i say send to the inbox ,it says cannot connect to ME.
3. Is there some thru which I can increase my SIM Sms capacity, probably by decreasing the phonebook capacity or something.
4. Finally wats the latest firmware version for the T610.
Help Someone. . Thanx

welcome to Esato
I can answer a couple of these...
1. this has always been the way since the T68. Only the P800 and P900 are able to keep their SMS when you change SIM. Upgrading your firmware will not change this
4. The latest firmware is R4C003 and you can always find the answer to this one in the

That is because the messages are stored in the phone. They are deleted when you change sim for security reasons (if someone steals your phone)

messages in the inbox automatically will be saved into the phones memory. after reading the sms, go to options then select save. the sms will now be saved in the sim

Ok security is fine, but now how do I keep all my smses on the phone(Not SIM) if I keep swapping sims. I have Phone back up(WHich doesnt work says unable to backup) and Float(Which stores the sms on the comp, but I cant seem to send them back to the phone. They are sent to the sim alright, but with a tiny SIM memory of 10sms, i cant hope to store my smses there..
Help out guys

with 64K sim you wont have a problem at all , all you got to do is to store you sms at your sim archive...... if this is not enough i think u have to buy another se phone

........ as simple as that

Phone backup says no phone connected. The mobile phone monitor (MPM) detects my phone, after which I run Phone backup. The PhoneBackup starts says no phone connected in the connection area. But the Restore and Backup buttons are active, when I press Backup.. it says No work was done. What is the order start the programs, MPM then Phonebackup or vice versa.. Its funny none of them came with a Help file. ALso Float is very erratic, it allowed me to backup my SMSes on to my phone once. I had to import them first and then do a copy to archive and then Upload to phone, but now it doesnt let me do dat. Says 'Cannot send to ME' and then disconnects the phone.. Its really frustrating. Oh and my dumb Mobile aservice provider doesnt support a sim change, is I have a 16K sim and if i change it I have to change a number or Pay a BomB!!!!.. Y dont ask me..
Help Again

Why don't you ask your operator for a better SIM. Maybe you could have one. I know when there is a new sort of SIM I can get it for free. And they will copy all the data for me.

Not every operator/provider supports this. If I would like to change SIM in our country, I've got to pay 13 + delivery... :-(
