Perhaps it's telling that the Kyocera SoHo/KX1 clamshell phone is said to be "attractive," and "solid," with performance that "makes quality phone calls," yet still only manages to get a 2.5 out of 5 this PC Magazine review. I mean, if they aren't billing it as a smartphone and it excels at everything that Kyocera designed it to do, why not a 4+ rating? It's disingenuous to lump a $150 clamshell in the same class as $600 smartphones and give it a middling rating because it doesn't have a camera or accept picture messages. It's a phone that performs well as a phone.
