First of let me apologize for double posting, i made a mistake and theres no option that lets me delete the post or move it to this topic, so i guess it has to be fixed by a mod or something anywho...
Hi guys, after browsing through so much P900 software I still haven't stumbled across what I would consider one of the most important pieces of software: one that protects your phone from theft. I mean I've seen utilities for our cousin counterparts (the S60 OS) that will lock the phone in case its stolen, like the AntiTheft and PhoneSecure software but what about UIQ? geesh can't programmers make it for us too?! i bet our devices are way more expensive than the S60 devices and deserves this kind of software. Anyways... if anyone knows of such software let me know

Itīs not working... if i would steal a p900/800 itīs as simple as that *snapping my fingers really fast* to empty and reset the phone and in that way get rid of that software.

Euhhhhh.... you can put a protection code on your P900, and when you change the SIM it will automaticly ask for that code or you can't start the phone, no hard reset will change that there you need that code too then...
No need to have a software, it's build in by SE

That's true enough, but *ONLY* if you know it's there.
The people that make PhoneSecure were working on a UIQ version a while back, but I've not heard anything for a while [will chase them up]

Phone Secure lets you send an SMS to your phone to set off an audible alarm, and to lock/unlock it. AFAIK you have to know the PIN to unload the software, and if you change the SIM card it sends your SIM # (not your phone number) to a number the actual owner specifies - not their own number obviously, cos they've just had their phone nicked!

I think it's a good idea, but there are 2 problems:
1..You cant get it to tell you the mobile number, only the SIM number,
2..You can't trigger an alarm if the phone is off an you have a phone PIN set (the phone doesn't connect to the network til they've put the PIN in).

The next question is what can you do to secure the data on your DUO?

For data on duo you can use F-secure file crypto.
