Is there anyway of changing the phone so that when you open the flip a program opens up e.g handy desktop instead of the applications menu?

Yes there is, for some programs. Like tracker and active desktop. I havent tried Handy Day myself but there is probobly somewhere you can change it into startig when you open the flip.

So does Aqua Calendar. You can choose which view (day, week, month) you want when you open the flip.

Or you can insatall KeyMapper and set it to run whichever program you want when you open the flip.

Yes i know. Quick is not the first word that comes to mind. But on the other hand you don't need Handy Desktop (or any other program) running at all times. Better for the battery I suppose.
