I had a bit of a disagreement with Vodafone yesterday I always reset my call timers at the beginning of each month BEFORE I make any calls.

So far, my T610 tells me I have 13 hours of Outgoing calls yet Voda insist I have made 17 hours of outgoing calls! & according to a very stroppy young woman from the North East of the UK (guessing from her accent) Vodafone’s billing computers NEVER make mistakes, when I simply challenged this somewhat amazing statement ( I used to run a development team) I was told she would terminate my call if I continued to argue with her! And that she was not interested in dealing with mistakes! When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was refused however when I pushed and asked her to stop raising her voice to me I was informed by a supervisor that this was not a matter Vodafone were prepared to debate as their billing systems are never wrong and that it was well known that hand sets do not log certain types of out going calls I kid you not!
I believe there are a number of Vodafone employees including techies who read and even moderate these boards; are these ludicrous statements true because I am seriously considering going Pay as You go from now on to check where I am being ripped off.

Ofcourse, they make mistakes. Whatever they say about their systems not making any mistakes, is not true.

I was billed for SMSs that I supposedly composed and sent to someone whilst I was in Nigeria on the Econet network there.... The problem was that I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO NIGERIA IN MY LIFE, so I cmplained and they credited the amount to next month's bill.

So I think you should go for the kill and complain formally.

Thanks for your reply Riflogic
This is not the first dispute I have had with Vodafone re billing.
Back in June 2003 I went to a Vodafone retail store and the manager looked at my bill and due to the fact that I use around 12 meg of GPRS per month
I should invest in one of their half price data bundles as I could use it for Picture messaging (A GPRS service) web browsing or text messages, you can imagine my surprise when having surfed the web for a lot longer than normal on my then P800 I got a bill for the lot, around 22 meg!! only to be told that you cannot use text bundles for GPRS web browsing even though it clearly stated use for browsing in Vodafone’s own advertising material! Their lame excuse was that you could not use text bundles for GPRS services I then pointed out that picture messaging was exclusively a GRPS service at which point they said they would check and call me back.
To this date, I have never had a call back and when ever I ask to speak to the person who was dealing with my problem as soon as they hear my name, guess what they are unavailable, so I lied and got through only to be told they would have to get back to me! Does any other network provide good GPRS data services? if so this may be the last time Vodafone have me over, I respect your comment 701 but please believe me there has never been a piece of software written that does not contain a bug and don’t forget Vodafone needs to find the money to sponsor Ferrari and Manchester United from somewhere, our pockets!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty confident in the data services Orange offer, and they've won customer services awards loads of times. That's why I particular favour orange over any other network--you can actually talk to people.
