OK, my old TV had a light sensor & so does my Mini Cooper for the Nav display. It would be great if the P1000 had one (if that's what they're going to call it). When I'm in my car at night & the phone rings or I open the flip, it blinds me...literally! The light sensor should let users set the exact brightness for nighttime as well. Thoughts~

The only way of doing it on P900 would be to reduce the brightness at a particular time say at sunset. Not perfect but a start.

It would be a good feature, and could potentially improve battery life, but it would be difficult to position the sensor where it wont occasionally be covered by a finger.

Might be an idea.... i have doubts over it being implemented, though...

Smart idea, but doubtful that it will appear in P1000 (?) unless they have already thought of it before we did.

the V600 has this feature but when using the phone during the day and texting everytime you have your fingers over the sensors (positioned on the lower part of the phone behind transparent rubber rests for closed positions) whilst texting the light flicks on and off!

I'm sure they could find a proper place where fingers wouldn't block it.

A simple menu allowing you to adjust it would sufice I am sure. ok you might need to change it once a day or something but it would be better than nothing.
In fact I am sure that if apps like keymapper can be made to take control of all imputs then somthing could be coded to control the backlight.

Oh if only I was better at codeing

OK, so the P910 has an adjustment for the screen brightness, but it's not the total solution. If it were to recognize that I've put the P910 in the car holder, then change the brightness level ~ then that would be perfect. I guess someone is going to have to write a program that adjusts the brightness on a shcedule that I set. Anyone???
