> p800 shutdown while texting

i need help.. my p8 has been acting wierd.. i dont know why this happens but when i type an sms message my phone shuts down.. it doesnt really happen that often but still it does happen and am concerned about it.. and it irritates me when i am typing a very long message then it shuts down.. it doesnt even save the message in the drafdt folder so i have to type the message again..
need help quick! thanks!

Ahh the dreaded TOD! I haven't seen that for a while! I had my firmware flashed and the TOD suddenly stopped appearing!

It's a well known bug that's been around for a while.
Reportedly appears less on the R2D firmware but it's not completely sorted. Typical SE, they'll do bugger all about it I'm afraid ....

That started happening to me more frequently when I updated my FW. Anyway, I noticed it only happens when you REPLY to a particular SMS. If it happens to you often, or repeatedly while replying to one SMS, just create a new one rather than reply.
All we can hope for is a newer FW that sorts it out... or the successor of the P900. Whichever comes first!

Happens to me about once a week.
Learn to love it cuz it's prolly not gonna go away...

but only happens when you text a combination of characters using the stylus,
