Something that's bugged me ever since I got my P900 is this: when writing a text with T9 on, if the word you want is not in your "My Words", but another word with the same T9 presses exists.

For example. Try this. To type in "Dell": 3, 3, 5, 5. This comes up with "Fell". From here I can't seem to find anyway to get Dell other than deleting the last character, leaving "Del" putting in a space, deleting the space and pressing 5 again.

I seem to remember on my years old Nokia 6210 you just pressed the next T9 selection button (which is 0 on the P900), when it got to the end of its T9 list it would beep and go to the equivalent of "My Words" so you could add the word you wanted, and never have the problem with this word again.

Is this something that has been addressed in a firmware update? I am running Phone: CXC162022 R3C006

I've noticed that too. The only apparent way around it is to press the menu key, and select 'Text Options' and 'Spell Word' or whatever it is....I sometimes deliberately enter several incorrect characters and it forces the 'Spell' window to open. Once you have deleted the incorrect chars, and inserted the word, it is there for next time.

I don't see a problem with that method.

It doesn't know the word Dell, so fell is the only reasonable answer it has.
As the other guy says you simply 'Spell Word' and put in Dell using multi-tap.

Next time you go to do Dell, it will be there.

The thing that annoys me is that if I add a word in caps, it will only let you insert the word in caps.
So if you wanted to start a sentence with Water, you would add 'Water', but next time if you wanted to use water mid-sentence, it would still want you to use 'Water' grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yeah, that's a total arse-ache!

I thought a f/w upgrade would sort that out but it hasn't. Do you know of any way to remove words from 'My words'? Some of the stuff my phone throws up is nothing short of surreal!

Can't find a way to remove words.

Pity some clever bugger can't write a program that can access the phone dictionary, retrieve it, edit it, then blast it back in.

That would be great, but alas, no one has done it.... yet!

To delete just start a new SMS then:

Menu, 5, 2

(Text Options / My words)

and as it says...

"Select word and press OK to edit or press C to delete"

i have a question as well. before i got my P900 I had a T616 and a T68i. On those two models, when i scrolled backward through a text message draft I could select a word i'd already typed and change to another word using T9. is there no way to do this on P900?

Is it so simple? I've not got my trusty companion with at the moment so I can't try it. And here's me getting all uppity with people who don't read manuals!

Egg is quite literally all over my face...

Yeah, just move the cursor onto the word and press "+"
