Hi - I've set my laptop to dial a GPRS connection via my T610 on Bluetooth. I'm dialling *99***1# and getting a connection. The laptop gets an IP address from Vodafone, and has picked up the DNS server as well. If I try and get a webpage - it doesn't! In the status bar I see the IP address of the website I'm trying to get - but eventually it just times out. (If I try and get a site by IP address the same thing happens.)

Any suggestions?

Thanks

what is the APN of the data account of the phone that you are using?

check by going to connectivity, data comm, data accounts, and click on the account you are connecting via, then click edit and click APN

if its wap.vodafone.co.uk then thats no good, you need to use an internet data account

check that and let me know!

APN is internet, but I'd appreciate knowing what the other settings are supposed to be!

Thanks

ok, well sounds like you are set up correctly on the phone as only the APN set to internet is required

the only other thing I can think of is to check that Vodafone have activated internet GPRS on your account, though usually if they haven't you get some other error message on your phone during the connection attempt

after that someone else may be able to help

Thanks for the info - The phone has 3 data accounts, one called Vodafone WAP, and 2 called Vodafone GPRS - one I can edit, and the other I can't! I deleted the duplicate GPRS account and made a new one, just setting the APN to internet. It now works ok (having changed the dial string on the PC to *99***2#.)
