Hi!
Yes I know viruses are not so common on the P900.. yet.
But I have the task to update on whats possible to do. Both when comes to antivirus as well as viruses(are there any??).
Anyone who has checked this out and can tell me some?

In August last year
Symnatec released antivirus software for PalmOS and PocketPC systems. So antivirus software for Symbian systems will probably be available soon as well.

Hi,
The taking out of the battery and the screen staying on the P900 is quite normal and there's nothing wrong with the phone. I'm not entirely sure how it does this, but it's just the type of screen they use. I believe if you leave it long enough it will fade completely, but I always turn mine straight back on so I never really pay it much attention.
As for loads of errors appearing and getting replacement phone. Because of the complexity of this phone (being a PDA as well) unfortunately it's prone to the similar problems to your desktop system since you are constantly changing it and/or adding/removing programs etc.
Although you could try and claim another phone off the insurance, you're probably better off doing a format of the internet memory (search the archives - I can't remember the sequence of buttons). This is DIFFERENT to a master reset and more extreme (it does wipe all your internal data and puts it back to the state it was when you first turned the phone on). You still have to format the memory card yourself to be sure it's in a completely new state. This is no different to what a new phone from your insurance company would be like.
Also try upgrading your firmware and NOT restoring a backup. If you have the latest firmware this will be exactly the same as doing the format mentioned above. Of course you could restore the backup, but then you'll likely just bring back the problems that it previously had.
Why not claim off insurance anyway cause it's easier? I can't be sure of this of course, but I suspect it may affect future insurance prices/renewals and/or phone upgrade prices. After all the P900 isn't exactly cheap. Also insurances such as a Orange will give you a reconditioned P900 NOT a brand new one. Basically phones that like yours have been sent back because of faults. Of course they fixed the faults, changed the casing in most cases and redeploy it out there... but there you go it won't be new and no you can't complain to Orange because it's in the terms of Orange Care somewhere.
Also if you get a new phone you get a new IMEI and all that software you may have registered in the past will no longer work and you'll have to very nicely ask all the authors to give you new codes (if they will)
Phew that was longer than expected. Anyway hope it's of help to someone.

Additional to my last post:
To update firmware:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/updateservice/P900/frameset.htm
To get to internal menu and format option:
Close the flip (virtual flip may work) and using the JOGDIAL and star key from the main screen (with operator name showing)
Up, Start, Down, Down, Star, Down, Star
Format is under option 3 (Service functions) - When you do this it'll say about filesystem has been corrupted and it's reformatting. That's quite normal. Don't panic. (Of course it'll wipe everything on the phone, but it comes back with the factory defaults in it)
