> Using P900 with flip closed
Bookmark topic
I have recently bought a P900 to replace an ageing XDA. My main requirements are a usable phone and a good diary. All the other stuff is useful, but not essential.
I thought that a P900 would be a good choice, but it hasn't been love at first sight. I know that these things do take some getting used to, but there are some real aggravations with the P900 for me.
Before I give up, I wanted to check a couple of things out.
I am right handed. When I use the phone one handed I use my thumb to press the keys on the flip. This means that there is no way I can reach the jog wheel without completely changing my hand position. This may sound like a trivial point, but is actually a major annoyance and means almost letting go of the phone and sliding it around on the palm of my hand.
Some things can be done with the flip keys, but I seem to invariably come to a point where I have to use the jog wheel. For instance, sending a text:
Menu # 3 1 OK is fine but then I have to use the jog wheel to select the contact. I then need to use it again to move from the To field into the text area. I can then enter the message and send it just using the keys.
Any way of doing this without using my other hand or letting go of the phone?
I would also like to show my next few agenda items when the flip is closed, (in the same way that I use QuickAgenda to show this on my XDA's today screen). I'm guessing from the discussions here about the limited functions with the flip closed that I'm going to be out of luck!
Thanks!
John

I'm right handed as well although I actually find I hold the phone in my left hand and use the jog dial etc as well as type on the keypad etc all from left hand. Don't know quite why because I suppose that doesn't make sense, but I have easy use and access to all the buttons.
Any other right handed people do that?

Thanks for your replies.
OK, so there's nothing obvious that I have missed! I'll just have to get used to it.
IMHO a P900 with the flip closed should be as easy to use as a Nokia. It's just a pity that it's not!
I'm using it without the flip for now . .

Im not taking my Flip off. It pisses me off how if someone calls you and they are not in your contacts list, you can add them with the flip closed. But if you want to manually add a contact with it closed you cant! Obviously the software is there, just that someone hasnt taken the extra 5 mins to complete this functionality!
If they would fix that I would be happy. Friggin look like a clown each time I take out my stylus to add a contact.
Can someone tell me where do I send email for requests to Sony Ericsson???? I am hoping that someone is going to create a function for adding a contact manually with it closed. ???
