fastmobile offers a service called fastchat that allows you to voicechat with other fastmobile users across GPRS and 3G networks using your Symbian OS phone such as a Nokia 3650 or Sony Ericsson P800. This takes a little while to sink in, but think about it: You could voice chat with or send phone camera photos to your buddy in London instantly while you are riding the subway in New York, or anywhere else that offers 3G or GPRS. "At launch this week, fastchat is already operational between the country’s GSM operators including T Mobile, Cingular and AT&T Wireless," according to a recent fastmobile press release. At $9.95 a month with unlimited use this is an inexpensive and very cool service that should take off big.

I'm a bit puzzled about this announcement as fastchat seem to have been around for nearly a year looking at some of
these threads that I recall, or did I misunderstand this? (sorry if I did!)

Huh? Please explain the point of fast chat. Chat with your voice? Huh? Does this use our talk time minutes? What's the diff from this and calling someone? Does this way, we only need an SN, as opposed to the phone number?

Might as well use msn messenger... (if you want file transter I guess it might be quite cool but I imagine a payfor app will allow that unlike agilemessenger (what I use cos its free).
@axxxr you got shares in these guys or something?

Why does it have an image of the Nokia's OS on the P900's screen?
