This is not a boring thead moning about it. just how many think the life is good and bad.
I personally think its Amazing. i have owned many phones and this is up with the good.
My batt lasts 2-3 days depending on usage. average is 2-3 hous talking a day and 2 hours playing games each day and a bit of normal use.
Now is that really that bad?????

Yeah i agree that is good, i have always thought that sonyericsson were good in the battery life in fones. The p900 does have good battery life for what it does and the color screen etc. I used to have an MS smartphone and the battey life was poor (which was one of the reasons i moved on!)

I think for size and features its outstanding, is just a pitty they cant create larger batterys we can buy like for the t39 series where you had a battery that was larger and stood proud of the phone but allowed weeks and weeks of use. Also the 1260mah battries are not availible as spares. So if you want to run more than one battery you have t use the 1000mah which dont last so long and get over charged.

Doubt a SE 1000 maH will be overcharged in a P900. One of the reasons why they are so more expensive than 3rd parties equivalent is that they incorporate battery management so that the status of the battery is always known. Since I've put sman my battery life has improved and this could be due to the battery conditioning as well. Please read the other thread for more information on battery issues.

Don't forget Ericsson had one of the best charging technologies and Sony are renown for their Info lithium batteries (which begs the question why they didn't make the battery status better! The T68 gave you a battery life in minutes which is more informative than having percentages, alot of SOny cybershots have this info!)
I admit having the bigger capacity is better, but give SE time, I'm sure they will bring it on the market soon, they are always slow at bringing accessories onto the market! Maybe they want to get rid of the 1000 mAH units first!

I realise

are Vgood with battery charging but it will overcharge 1000mah as it is trying to charge it to the capacity of a 1260mah
I have tryed my best to condition the battery and find i get good life from it I only wish I could buy 1260mah batterys from somewher so when I use more than one batery in a day i could get as good life from the spare as the orrignal.
Thanks tho.

The battery will stop charging when its full! No matter what capacity it is, the chips will sense this and switch to trickle charging, it can't overcharger otherwise it will get hot and could explode. This was put forward as an explanation why third party nokia batteries could explode! For your sanity use the thread and the formula present and time how long it takes to charge up your 1260 and 1000 mah batteries. The 1000 mah will charge much sooner! The only exception is that 3rd parties batteries might not have the built in battery management system so they say. Believe me, I just got a battery from a guy who has a P800 and it stops when fully charged! This is how the phone determines the status of the battery along with detecting the voltage currents. If it doesn't stop charging then there could be a fault and I'd take it back as it could be dangerous. Vice versa the P800 it would take longer to charge up the 1260 mah. Hope this clarifies things.

Well my battery lasts two days.
However, sometimes it can take 8 hours to get it down from 100% in the morning to 24% at 1700 due to heavy use of the music player and video and CommuniCorder applications.
Not very impressive. However, I charge it every night so I don't really mind.

My experience with other devices (with colour screens and PDA functionality) means I have a means of comparison. My P900 battery is very good compred to other devices (e.g. Sony Clie range). Remember it is important to condition the battery in the first few weeks of ownership.
