I have set my T68 to download mail using pop3 from my e-mail account. The problem is when I try to send mail via SMTP. It does not work properly. I have the correct SMTP and PORT settings according to my provider. Is there some other setting that needs to be done? Anyone have a clue to what the problem could be?
Thanks

stiffe, is your GRPS provider identical to your Email provider? If not, you have to use the SMTP server of your GPRS provider. It also helps if you enter IP numbers ( like 195.33....) instead of servernames (like mail.gmx.net).
For the POP server you have to configure your email providers server.
Confusing? It was for me too, but it works

Thanks, this should hopefully do the trick then. Unfortunately Telia (Sweden) are having problems with traffic via SMTP to all providers in Sweden now. This should be resolved within some days according to Telia helpdesk.

I use my e-mail providers settings for both servers and it works fine. Maybe you're using a wrong APN :-/ This message was posted from a T68i

All e-mail providers allow reading your mail from any IP address. Many of them however allow sending e-mails only if your IP address is in the same domain as the server. This is to make spamming more difficult.
