> cutting and MP3 to use as a ringtone

Hi guys,
Is there some decent software on PC (free hopefully) to cut an MP3 down to save space if you want to use say the first minute as a ringtone on P900 ?
It would hopefully just loop around if the phone is unanswered.

cheers,

mp3directcut is free, and doesn't re-encode the mp3's, so it won't loose any quality. a bit ugly, but it works just fine.

I use mp3 cutter and "easy mp3 to wav maker" to convert it to wav file for the phone. mp3 cutter can turn it into wav but the produced files take more space than the other program I use. The only thing I dont know is whether there is some compression tool to compress the wav file cause it is about 3 times as big as mp3.

I use diet mp3 to reduce the quality[file size]
Very easy to use, and diets to 64 kb no problem.
Should be able to get from k**** with serial code.

Nero 6 comes with Wavw Editor, use it to cut a portion out of the mp3 and save it as a wav.

I just used winamp to turn the mp3 I wanted to edit some (removed part of the intro and end) to wav then reencoded it using one of the
many mp3 encoders and put it back to the phone. Turned out great.

Quicktime can do it as well! Although it converts the end product to a wav format.
