I get this error when running the new update program from the SE update website:
"The magic number did not match".
What the heck does that mean?
Another piece of crap SE software probably....

What I did was uninstall and reinstall the PC Suite and tried updating again. What it'll happen then is it will d/l and install a new installer program.
All smooth going after that. Try it and it should work.

I had a similar problem, but after much uninstalling and reinstalling, I discovered "that" error actually refers to the installer itself, and not the phone or SE.
I went to the developer of InstallAnywhere (Zero G) and downloaded a file from them... and this seemed to fix it.
You don't happen to be using a pirate copy of XP, are you?
