I was just wondering if anyone managed to get full internet on their laptop using the free o2 gprs and the infrared using the t610 as a modem. I thought I had managed to do this but I can only access http://www.o2.co.uk when i connect. Did anyone find a way to access other sites other than this without paying?

thanks

What settings are you using? I'd like to use my P900 as a GPRS modem. I'm running windows xp. This message was posted from a P900

Go into IE's proxy settings for the connection you use to "dial" the GPRS network and enter the following proxy settings:

193.113.200.195 port 80

Beware though it only allows HTTP port 80 traffic through, no HTTPS or POP3 etc. or even cookies!

Enjoy.

No, I don't think so. eMsn works though -
http://www.e-messenger.net/

It's a bit of a poxy proxy, only allowing port 80 traffic through. It means it's very hard to log into webmail etc. because lots of them use HTTPS and even if they don't, they use cookies.

But... can't complain about something for nothing. I suppose.

It's *99***SID#
e.g. if the SID is 1 then the number is *99***1#
It should say the SID of the GRPS connection somewhere in the phone's connection setup. If unsure then just use *99***1# and see if it works.

Username: If the access point is "payandgo.o2.co.uk" then it's "payandgo". If the access point is "wap.o2.co.uk" then it's "o2wap"

Password: For all access points, it's "password".
