i downloaded these progs to my t610 and tried to use them. it asks if i want the app to connect to the web - and i say yes. it then tries to connect but nothing happens. i just get an error message saying counld not connect.

i assume it uses the same wap profile as my vodafone live/normal wap browser uses - which connects fine. i tried using gsm and gprs - but didnt get it connected

so i have to do something else?

thanks

taken from the reqwireless FAQ

I'm getting "Network error" or "Could not connect to server" when I try to connect using WebViewer, EmailViewer, or HotViewer on a Sony Ericsson T610 or Z600, what am I doing wrong?

WebViewer, EmailViewer and HotViewer all use the first configured APN on the Sony Ericsson T610 or Z600. This APN should be a GPRS/Internet APN, not a WAP or MMS APN. Each APN on the Sony Ericsson T610 or Z600 has a unique identifier known as a CID, where the CID can be found by selecting Connectivity -> Data comm -> Data accounts -> . WebViewer, EmailViewer and HotViewer will always connect through CID=1, so if the current APN associated with CID=1 is not a GPRS/Internet APN, simply create a new APN, copy the APN settings from the APN associated with CID=1 and then copy your GPRS/Internet settings to the APN associated with CID=1.
....

so it seems you cannot use wap and will have to use GPRS/internet. On vodafone UK its the data account with APN set to internet, not the APN set to wap.vodafone.co.uk

yup, there is a separate gprs connection for accessing the web as opposed to WAP. this is what your webviewer and email viewer needs. contact your carrier to get the settings.

ok this makes some sense - however - i cannot edit the entry at CID 1, it;s called Vodafone GPRS but the edit option is greyed out??? it cant be deleted either?! so the one at CID=1 cannot be changed or deleted. i have added another GPRS account with the same settings, which is CID=2 (obvioulsy) but cant change this or overwrite the first one.....

also i have done a quick search but when you say the APN needs to be INTERNET - is that INTERNET.VODAFONE.NET or just INTERENT???

create a new data account with the internet settings, then go to your wap profiles and under the default profile, try clicking on the 'Connect Using' option and pointing it to the internet account.

as for the APN, i'm not a voda user so i can't help you there but you can try both and see if it works. or you can just phone voda and ask them
