I thought that seeing as i use mac i could try and manually back up my phone... So i loaded up SMan, and copied and pasted my entire c:\ drive to my msd. It started to copy across but, obviously, some files (like settings.dat) were "in use" and so couldnt be copied. So i skipped those. Now the drive on the phone i did this on has 5 megs of free space. It's a P8 (i daren't risk it on my P9) so the entire drive is, supposedly at least, 12 megs, which means the size of the backup should have been 12-5... so 7mb. lmagine my surprise then, when i found that my backup wasn't 7, but 17 (!) mb in size! This means c:\ must have a total capacity of 23mb-almost twice the official size. Are lying to us when they tell us the size of drive? Maybe they're just telling us the size of the drive once system s/w etc has been accounted for. In this case, hower, the "sysinfo" part of SMan should tell us the real size of the drive.
Anyway... Just thought I'd share this on with you!
Oh and if some daring soul wants to do this with their P9-report in afterwards!!

The flash memory is 48 MB ram and this has increased the available user memory, which is now 16 MB. So the user has 16MB in the P900. In the P800 the flash memory was 32MB. and the user memory was much lower.

would that solve your doubt?
