Today, there is not even ONE maker OR phone model that doesn't suck. I mean, all right, there might be a model or two that have many features (Alltogether) that no other model has, but it will also surely have AT LEAST one big flaw. In the past months, so many brands and phone-models have passed my hands, that I can hardly remember any year of my life where I've had so many testing-sessions.

I’ve heard on the street, places I visit, on the Internet, forums, etc. people bragging about their phones, or how much better one is than the other.

Instead of me getting into the same old process of comapring or mentioning all great features of various phones, I made a list of the latest phones I have tested and their most noticeable flaws (Notice that I have 'played' with each phone, at least a week):

1. Nokia 6600
- Too wide to fit comfortably in your pocket. It’s a pain in the ass in your jeans pocket (Very anti-Diesel jeans format! He he he...)
- Settings that should be a few clicks away, make you go through a 'labyrinth'. For instance, have good laughs with a mobile-smartass by giving him the phone to set you manually the settings for Internet (To surf with ex. Opera)
- External speaker's max volume too low. Listening an MP3 on the phone's speaker (for instance, to enjoy the track with your friends) while waiting at the buss-stop, is like whispering words too a person that is sitting a few tables away at a cafe
- Battery time is shocking little for a phone that is supposed to be of Nokia’s top-ones!
- In order to really enjoy the phones futures, a lot of extra money has to be spent on buying extra software (ex. MP3 program in order to able to play MP3s at all!). Or your other solution is to go ilegal (Download the programs from illegal distributors on the www, p2p, etc.)

2. Nokia 6230
- Thumb cursor, a la T610, which is VERY uncomfortable, difficult to always 'hit it' right and in many functions can only be done with it, which gives you wrong results in processes. No other option-buttons available (This thumb-button will shock most of the faithful Nokia fans)
- Screen is TOO small. No matter what some people say ("I can live with it", etc.), it'll sooner or later annoy you. 640x480 pictures get resized and pixelated making it hard to see them (The zoom function is useless, since the screen is still too small for it). Video clips look even worse...
- Preinstalled pictures, backgrounds and sounds are boring, dated and with no creativity nor imagination. Even the menu icons and background design is dated...
- Dark pictures or pictures containing darker colors, practically can't be used as backgrounds/wallpapers as they render useless the phone's main screen info (Such as time, date, sms/mms/gprs/bluetooth/ir/etc. icons, etc.)
- Java games and applications HAVE to be installed through Nokia PC Suite! They can’t be directly transferred to the phone!!!

3. Samsung E700
- Some menus are very awkward (if not impossible) when it comes more advanced settings (Ex. GPRS/WAP).
- Exchange of pictures, sounds, etc. with other phones ONLY through MMS! (What's the beef with Asian makers and Bluetooth???)
- Extra games/programs or phone accessories hard to get (if ANY can be found, for that matter)
- Battery = no match to SonyEricsson and Nokia (Faaaaar behind...)

4. GX20 and GX30
- Vodafone menus are making the phone's menu shity (just like any other model that has Vodafone preinstalled). Bare in mind that, at least in the European continent, you can buy the phone ONLY through Vodafone (Forget Ebay or smaller shops that import them from Asia - They got no form of guarantee that is valid in Europe)
- Video clip quality is below poor (like on most mobiles existing on the market right now). Video clips are 'blocky' (pixelated), choppy and with awfully compressed sound.
- Infrared (on both models) doesn't cooperate with ANY other mobile. Bluetooth (only on GX30) is ONLY there for communication with ex. Bluetooth-headset. NO communcation your computer OR another Bluetooth phone!!! (And I asked if any of the future firmware updates would correct this and of course I received a negative answer).
- NO accessories (Original).
- Incompatibility with most games/programs
- Battery-time is a shame (Especially on GX20)

5. Siemens SX1
- Bad all-around quality of the phone (plastic, plastic, bad plastic and plastic!)
- In areas where I always have good reception (with most mobiles), the SX1 almost 'got lost'
- Too buggy. Also, although it is a Series 60 phone (aka Nokia), most Series 60-programs are buggy or don’t even work on SX1!
- Buttons by the screen = Mission Impossible
- Play a couple of MP3s, watch a video, move around the settings, talk with some friends and wow! - The battery is gone!...

Although a Sony Ericsson lover, I've said before that I couldn’t anymore afford to support only a specific mobile maker. I had decided that I would switch phone every time a brand made the most ‘complete’ phone. Unfortunately, the more I try to give other mobile-makers a chance, the more they make me to dislike them.
I’ve even tried the ‘opposing side’ (aka. Nokia), and although I had the best intentions, tried to be open-minded and always gave the various phone-models a second chance, they always managed to let me down. I have tried over 18 other models, but as usual, I’m always ‘forced’ to return to my loyal, 1 year old, disaster-surviving T610!
Yes, there are mobiles with better cams out I the market, and some can even record videos. But I still prefer proper Bluetooth and Infrared communication with my computer and accessories, full customization of my phone, proper WAP surfing and a dissent battery-time too any of the features mentioned above...

PS. When will ever a phone be at least good in all its aspects? What? Never? Oh, well, I’ll wait then for S700!…

Nobody and nothing is perfect. All fones have bugs, less or more, but on that way we shouldnt buy anything. Such kind of list interesting, but nothing special for me. This message was posted from a R520

Well, if you see it that way there will never be a perfect phone..
There will always be a new aspect coming out and the moment a phone has it there will be another aspect that this perfect phone lacks..

The way i see it, unless SE do something really stupid their new phones (s700 and k700 i think) look like being the ultimate phones. As far as i'm concerned, the t610 is also a pretty bloody good phone, with the only real flaw being the lack of memory. Cam is good enough, java comp. ain't too bad. But i can't stand that out of memory sign.
Still, k700 with 32MB's should sort THAT out.

@don_vercetti
The only stubid thing they could do is again a memory issue! In the K700 it is argued that it might have only 12-14Mb free for the user

In that case, it would be annoying again, seeing as with that amount of space you could only hold like 3 mp3's. I believe you'll be able to use memory cards to expand it though, the MS Duo or something. I sure as hell hope so.
What the expected RRP for the new phones?
