Hi everyone i'm new to the forum. seems like a great forum for these phones!

right, to my problem.

i have installed the syncstation drivers and PCSuite but when i put my phone in the syncstation i can see the little connection manager icon start to move, like it's connecting to the phone but then it just stops moving and nothing happens. have tried a fresh install and i have changed what USB port the syncstation is plugged into.

i've seen that some have suggested that it's a firewall or antivirus program blocking, i use Panda Titanium Antivirus 2004, i have tried disabling it though but still no luck.
in the properties of the Phone connection link, it says Connected on Com3, i had it working earlier. but i don't know what programs i've installed since when it was working.

does anyoene have any idea what could be wrong?

I still haven't found a solution though. I'm sure it's a software conflict.

Well, i fixed mine.

what i did was that i uninstalled PC Suite, then my antivirus software, then the SEMC -DSS-20 drivers, all in the control panel, add remove programs.

Disconnected my Syncstation

did a reboot of my PC

when the PC had finished booting i reconnected the syncstation (without the phone in the station) and let Windows install it.

when windows had installed the syncstation i unplugged it, installed PC Suite from my P900 CD on my C:\ disk.

reconnected my syncstation.

voila, problem solved, syncstation now finds phone again.

This is clearly causing hassle everywhere around the world and is very annoying for everyone concerned.

I recently found my sync station to stop working for no apparent reason - I didn't have any anti-virus software installed but i had recently removed a couple of programs i hadn't used in years from the add/remove in the control panel of my pc.

Anyway, to my solution:

(1) Uninstall everything (pc suite, semc driver, etc, pull out usb plug)
(2) Restart Computer
(3) Plug the sync station in to the usb port - put in pc suite cd and let windows install the drivers for you.
(4) Take out the sync station from the usb
(5) Install the BRAND NEW pc suite from sony ericsson: http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]3_4&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10101
(6) Now plug the sync station back in to the usb, then put the phone in the cradle...

...You should now see the new phone wizard pop up on screen - that should be it.

If the problem still persists, the only thing i did differently, which would probably make no difference, but, I used my old P800's pc suite cd to install the SEMC drivers, rather than my new P900's pc suite cd.

Hope this helps everyone. I'm happy again as it worked for me.

ok, BUGGAR THIS!

The sodding thing has stopped working again, it only sometimes sees the phone, other times i have take out the usb, play with the settings, restart the computer, restart the phone.

This is all with the latest suite, i give up, this is really starting to pee me off, plus i can't use my favourite app (remote p900).

Any ideas, anyone?
