I have a BT Cellnet sim card which has not been used in months. I put it in my phone today and tryed to access WAP but after says connecting immediately goes to 'Failed'. I thought I needed to update WAP settings so went to SE website then chose the options as follows to receive the SMS message with settings -United Kingdom/T68/O2 UK/Genie

I received the message and set the new profile but now it does exactly the same thing 'connecting' then 'failed'. Please can anyone help or point out where I have gone wrong?
cheers.

Have you used this old SIM before on wap? Maybe its not data enabled. Other than that, there is something wrong on your genie wap settings. You didn't send the Genie GPRS settings to your phone perhaps? This post was posted from a WAP device

Hi thanks for your replies, no I definitely got sent just the Genie settings not the Genie GPRS. I have used WAP on my sim card in Jan/Feb so it shouldnt have been disconnected.

Any other ideas or am I going to have to talk to some thick people on the customer help line who wont have a clue?!

Yep had the exact same problem. You need to data enable your SIM card. Click on this link for more info

http://mobileinternet.o2.co.uk/html/1_newUser/phoneViewer.asp?phone=ericrT68&function=1&place=2

Basically you need to call network services on 08705 214000 and they will then advise you what to do.

Hope this helps
