yes, it works, but not in the same way as it does on x6xx etc
you have to turn the flash to be constantly on and then take a picture in the normal way by pressing a button on the phone, whereas on the x6xx you press the button the flash which actually takes the picture

Has anyone actually tried the flash? Is it worth buying or a piece of crap?

yes, I have one and occasionaly use it on my T630 and P900 but its only useful for close range photos.
The stroboscope and SOS flashing modes are ok for night clubs too I suppose

i think this device has multiple use. its a camera flash, a flash light and a good help in finding your way home after a party

I use it on P900. Pics are definitely better & it has multiple usage.

I bought one for my P900 and have not been impressed, as it does not flash it doesnt have the same affect as on the x6xx. The px00 camera adjusts to the extra light and doesnt use it, if it flashed the cam wouldn't have time to adjust - like on a normal digi cam.
With additional software to control it properly it would be much better. Its not much more use than the screen as a torch.
As its LEDs it doesn't take much power from the battery.
The strobe effects are pretty poor.
No one likes having there pic taken with it on becoz its blinding.
Oh and its quite big to carry round in its case. (I really wasnt impressed was I...)

a camera always adjusts (or has to be adjusted manually) to suit the available light, whether that's coming from the sun, a candle, or a flashlight. it's right that the Px00's camera adjusts, and I'm sure the x6xx does too - otherwise the pictures will be overexposed.
sounds like this "flash" just doesn't have enough power to be useful.
