Hi everyone

This summer I am going to America and will stay for about a month. Of course I have roaming on my Norwegian subscription, but I think it will be too expensive to use it the whole time. That's why I am considering to buy a pre-pay card during my stay. Therefore I need some advice.

Since I am going to travel around it should work "everywhere" (I know from my stay last summer that the coverage isn't like in Europe with coverage almost everywhere). I also need to be able to receive SMS from Norway (and MMS aswell but that's not very important).

I will appreciate any help regarding this.

Thanks in advance!

I would recommend Tmobile.

They have nationwide coverage. You can send sms 4 10cents and it is free to receive.

@Zand
T-Mobile also gives free GPRS access on port 80. No other carrier offers that.

Yes, there was a very thourough thread concerning this very subject on HowardForums.com but I was unable to find it so I could post a link.

I have had sucess with TIM (Italy) and T-Mobile USA, but that is all I have tried.

I work for t-mobile usa and i think we have the best pay as you go right now. Mms is not availiale on pre pay, but you can do international sms. Virgin is not gsm. This message was posted from a Z600

Sounds good. I guess I will get the T-Mobile pre-pay then. Can I buy it in advance so I not have to look for a place to buy when I get there?
