Hm... Cloth? Everything? I'd like to see a picture of your phone, especially some parts... I asking about whole care, not just cleaning fingerprints... This message was posted from a Z600

It makes no sence to overprotect your phone! If you hardly want use it, why have it?

I often buy damaged/faulty phones off Ebay, and when I fix (or try to fix!) them I also give them a clean. I find a jeweller's screwdriver set is very useful - espeically the smallest screwdriver, which is great for getting muck out from the gap between the front facia of the phone and the back part of it, and other awkward to reach places. A pin used very carefully is also useful for those hard-to-clean places.

Another tip: if you've spilt a little liquid, like coffee or coke or something on the phone, and you're happy taking the phone apart, I use something called a 'Steret' for cleaning up PCBs, LCD assemblies, etc. A Steret is actually a pre-injection swab used in healthcare, but it contains Isopropyl Alcohol, which should be safe to use on your phone's PCB, as being alcohol it evaporates so won't damage circuit boards. I've used this on many a phone, including ones which were marketed with having a few keys 'not working', that just needed some gunk cleaning off the PCB!

Just make sure you know what you're doing when taking the phone apart - if in any doubt whatsoever, take it to a service centre and let them sort it.

It's amazing sometimes what phones can put up with - My T610 was bought off Ebay after been well and truly chewed by a dog - I put a new LCD, battery, and facia on it and it now works perfectly!

Am I tempting fate by saying it works perfectly?

I dont think it's necessary to care extra about our phones. I can't recommend to dismantle a phone. Just wipe off the display, blow the speaker and clean contacts ( best with vodka). I'm sure thats not good enough 4 fones eaten by a dog. This message was posted from a T610
