WHen I dial using voice, the number dialed is different (in error) from speed dialing the same contact. Example:

Stored contact: +1 (416) 631 5678

Speed dial dials in area 416: 4166315678 (correct)
Voice dialing .................. +4166315678 (incorrect, I get high pitch steady tone.

To fix it, I have to get rid off +1 in front of all my North American numbers. Any thoughts ?

you do not need to prefix '+' to your number, really. the '+', if i am correct, is for international calling or SMS.

why don't you just eneter 1+area code+phone number.

when you add a voice to your number, it selects from your existing contact number, there is no reason why they should be difference.

give this a try, it should be fine

When using the '+' you need to enter the country code next, and then the area code. You seem to have forgotten the country code. So you have to options: 1. Delete the '+' from all your phone numberes or 2. insert the country code.
Option number 2 has a benefit: when abroad, you will be able to reach your contacts without any hassle.

I recommend always storing your numbers in international format otherwise the first time you go out of your country and want to use your stored phone numbers you will find that they don't work.

International format works fine in your own country as well as anywhere else
