My mate has just got a nokia 6600 with 512MB MMC memory! Even tho the phone is shite in my opinion (I mean no touch screen!!) the memory size is brilliant! So many more vids, apps, pix, and oggs!! WHY cant SE just update the firmware so that the p900 can read duo pros or releaase a 512 duo (even 256 would be a start!)?!! I would be willin to pay up to £200 for a 512MB and 1GB would be out of this world - it would make so much difference to me! Anyway - just thought I'd have a moan and share it with you all!

LATERZ...

I'd like to know why 'memory space' costs so much! I paid £30 for a 128mb mmc,and they are so small, why the big prices? Grr! This message was posted from a T610

It's all very good, but the price of a 1gb memory stick(regular not duo) in the uk is around £500+ so i think the 512mb duo maybe a little more than £200!

its the hardware that limits the p900 to 128 apparently.

but they could make a 128x2 (switchable side a & side b) in duo as there is allready a nomal mstick like that.
or even 128x4. more chance of elvis buying my p900 off me.

its very annoying to switch them over, and apperently my friend has 6600

he put 2 movies and some other episodes on his 6600

when he loads each file it plays yea,, but it always stops playing at 11mins

he is pissed, can any one tell me if he is doing anything wrong,

Yeah i kno its a physical hardware thing with the memory - think its due to the memory address allocation - what a crap design! (actually no1 seems to kno for absolute definate that this is the case).

Actually ive seen duo pros goin on ebay for around £150 for a 512MB. If only these worked! A switchable duo would also be a gr8 idea. I would have two 128mb cards but i have nowhere to keep the spare. Unlike the P800, the P900 no longer has any spare room underneath the back cover to store an extra card (used to do this with the spare 16MB i had in my P800).

PLUS MMC have so many third party manufacturers that the mem is so cheap. This almost wants to make me get a 6600 - A BIG "almost" that is!

O well spoze its something to appreciate in later models...
