Is anyone using this product? There is a freature calls 'Black list' which prevents people you specify to send SMS. I am just wondering even though the SMS does not come to your phone, but is it still being counted?

Yes, I pay $2.99 for 300 a month. Yes, the system keeps track of them.

i heard that you guys in the US get billed for sms received too. is that still true? if it is, that really sucks.
if sms machine blocks a sender, you may not be billed, although i'm not 100% sure on that. i'm guessing that if an sms is blocked, then the phone doesn't send out confirmation to the smsc that it has received the message, which is what is used for billing.

I have T-mobile, and they do count incoming/outgoing SMS messages. I believe incoming is free for AT&T.
I agree with you, incoming should always be free because (1) it's difficult to block incoming (2) it's like people dialing the wrong number, you could very well get wrong SMS, thus why do you need to pay for those.

In some countries like us, they charge for the sms, whether they r delivered or not since it is utilising the netwrak resources..of course its not fair...

IMO:
Guess we pay for wrong calls to our cell phones so no different about sms.
But I do agree its crappy from the customers prespective to pay for both incoming sms or phone calls (unless of course u r on some great plan)
A lot of countries outide the US dont pay for any incoming calls/sms only outgoing.
The only way to recoup for US carriers would b 2 double the cost of outgoing calls/sms and make incoming free. Will mean less calls/sms make and hence decrease revenue for the carriers in my view.
Anyhow, in the US ATT does this for sms (10c outgoing/free incoming) while TMO-US (5c outgoing/5c incoming). Estimating a txt sent with a reply, then costs is the same (10c).
Either way, the carriers will try to make their money, but with the TMO way I would b likely to send more txt.
Just my view.
