sorry to hear of your misfortune...

but i really dont think you should take it out and fix it yourself (i think its very very fragile) given that you know where to buy the parts (cant help you with this).

what i can tell you is that it will cost you around USD 180 (with 1 year warranty) for se service center to replace it for you and it shouldnt take more than a couple of days..

good luck mate...

I feel for you. I just went through a similar experience (http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=55777). The LCD screen has a ribbon which snaps on to the circuit board. There's no soldering required. However, you have to be very careful that the ribbon from the job dial does not break when lifting the circuit board to remove the LCD ribbon. Other than that, it's a simple fix if you get a replacement LCD screen. Most people warned me not to do this myself and to take the phone to a service center. That's good advice. I didn't have a SE dealer in my area to really consider that option. Good luck and I hope you get it back online quickly.

i bought another p800 from the local market, my parents have a bank account which they pay £1 a month for extras such as card services, lost keys return, free currency exchange etc etc and it also has free phone insurance, hes gonna try and claim off of that, so hopefully i will get another one (maybe even a 900 as i dont think they make 800 new anymore) then sell one.

but i still have one that i will take apart for parts if anyones interested or wants to make an offer on whole phone.

Replacing LCDs on mobile phones often isn't as hard as it looks. For example, I've replaced the LCDs on 3310s, T68s and similar in about 5 minutes! P800s though - never tried it. I'm toying with the idea of trying, would be a cheap way for me to get a P800

If you feel confident enough, I would have a go - you can get things like replacement screens off ebay - about £50 I think - but if in any doubt take it to a professional, could be an expensive mistake if you break the phone even further.

btw, how much roughly would you be interested for for the phone, and will it come with all it's accessories? Where are you based as well, in the UK somewhere?

yeah plymouth

if i were o gut the phone and sell on ebay i think i could probably get around £40. - £15 keypad, £10 Case, £5 battery, £10 gutted phone. i also have a charger but its worth about £2 on ebay so will keep and use as an extra, make me an offer on the whole phone if you like but like i say its not a problem for me to stick it on ebay. if it cost you £50 to replace would still be cheap.may have a look on ebay myself for a screen too.

Disassembling the px00 and replacing the parts is extremely easy, dont pay someone else to do something you could do yourself. Just buy a new screen and replace it.

Do someone know some site with pictures or some kind of guide of how to disassemble a P800 and replacing the screen?? I have both, the p800 with the broken screen, and a working screen from a broken p800. I feel confident to replace it myself, but its useful to know what im going to find. Dont wanna break anything on my way.
Anyone??
