> P900 with AT&T Wireless

I recently got a p900 and tried to use it on the cingular network, unfortunitly cingular in my area only use the 850 frequency so the phone is useless for that network. If I put an AT&T sim card in it the phone works perfectly. With cingular buying AT&T does anyone know if cingular will unlock AT&T's towers so that I could use the phone on cingular network shortly and will cingular keep the 1900 frequency active once they control the towers. Just want to get my p900 up and running.

Hi.
I am using a p900 on the cingular network. I called tech support and gave them my new IME # and the phone worked right away. You must leave the phone off while they make the switch and then turn it on after they are done. 30 min was enough time. Then call tech support agian and have them help you set up your internet account information. The will connect as cingular extended all the time. The internet will connect with The GPRS not the GSM but it will work fine. You need to be on the national plan so it wont cost extra to be on the extended network all the time. Cingular offers a special unlimited internet package the includes unlimited data trans (browsing) 1500 sms and 25mms for just around 20$ a month. A great deal concidering most wireless unlimited access packs are around 70$ a month. Have been on this network for 2-3months and can check my bank account; buy and sell on ebay. browse the internet, everything without difficulty. I use a combination of browsers. Opera is great but slow at times. WebViewer is fast and works great without haveing to touch the screen all the time and jog around the links on the page with your thumb. And of course the one that came with the phone I use when I need the browser to work the other phone programs like pictures and video.

Once you get your cingular sim card/phone connection to work, If you have trougle with your internet connections I can give you more help. Also on the sonyericsson web sight (sign in) and they have the internet setting listed for several networks including cingular. On thier web sight look for email and internet setting. Sony Ericsson did a nice job giving general email and internet setting information on there. Hope this was helpful:)
