Don't know if this topic has been covered before. I have a P900 purchased in Germany.
Where to start with the problems with this phone.
Before online up date.
Things that did not work
1. when applying silence to a phone book entry, it rings the default sound when the person calls.
2. there is two options for SMS in the messages view. One is to create
a new SMS and the other is to view your SMS's. So why do both options take you to the create new SMS screen?
3. The Two princes song is not viewable except in the manage tracks
options. More on this after the on line update.
4. Can you withhold your number when dialling from somebody in your
address book? I only know how to do it when you type a number in!
5. My P900 was purchased in Germany and I selected the English
language, however there are still a lot of messages etc in German!
6. All the sound volumes and I still can't hear the music in some
applications!!
7. The errors stating that there is not enough memory and music player
errors, even although I have enough memory and can only be cured if you power of and on.
Faults after performing the online up date. I think that the upgrade has
actually made the phone worse!
1. I noticed that after selecting English, it looked like all messages
files etc were in English, which was nice until I performed a backup and
restore! this of course put all the wrong German messages etc back to
German!!,
2. the two princes can be selected for a ring tone, but it never
actually rings (you get the default ring tone!)
3. Again when selecting silence for somebody stored in your address
book you still get the default ring tone!
4. The list of preferred phone numbers in the address book occasionally
is displayed but more often not!
5. When viewing a sent SMS, smiles are no longer activated.
6. I can no longer uninstall any of the pre-installed software, so I am
stuck with this DEMO!! When you go to application uninstall I get another list with only applications that I have installed in it ie V-Rally. Same with storage manager uninstall.
7. After update you can no longer have a number that begins with an
asterisk in the phone quick dial function.
8. When you are listening to music and you get a call, the music does
not continue playing after the call is ended, why?
9. Errors are still present (see 7 above in previous list).
10. I also noticed that the slide bar in the MP3 player is more
visible!! Thanks for that Sony!
There is more but I can not remember, maybe I will add them at a later date.

Have you performed any firmware updates? A lot of your problems sound familiar to me, and have gone away since I have updated.
Some of the problems, however still linger, and are big annoyances to a lot of people... the Demo being one of them.
So visit the
update page.
Maybe your past updates weren't installed correctly.

Just done another upgrade but at first glance I can't see any noticeable improvements.
Has any body else notice any vast improvements
