The only other phone i can afford is the t100 or t105 which doesnt really have what i want anyway this is allso my first ericsson so is there any quirks with them? (nothing could be worse then my nokia experince anyway hehe 2 3310's in two years)

SE T230 is a low budget colored phone. It's much better than the T100/T105. Go for the T230 for colored phones nowadays are very popular. Grayscale phones are not that popular anymore. For more info about the SE T230, go to www.mobile-review.com then find the phone. It's usually under the sub-menu REVIEW or PREVIEW or you can directly go to www.sonyericsson.com

where do you get it for that price in oz? (I saw it today with a prepaid deal for $299 AUD)

Here is another (oz based) review:

@RamNinja

Welcome to esato! Yes, i would check out www.mobile-review.com, www.clubsonyericsson.com or www.sonyericsson.com/t200. for the cheapest price, try ebay but then again it may cost for delivery to the oz .

by all means get a t230 - a great low budget colour phone - with 4096 colours (thats how many a nokia 7250i has! but half the price!) you can also get an attatchable camera. it will last you ova a year - a good investment. if the t300 lasted me a year, then the upgrade t230 will be great for you!

or you can get a cheaper t300/68i but it is up to you.

the T230 is the best phone in the low segment. but since you're using USD you're probable american and talking about the T226 or T237. there only dual band so it will be one of those.
you should go for the T237 since that one has 4096 colors.

Remember that some users prefer gray screens over color screens. Color screens are much harder to read in sun/daylight.

I would, for instance, change my T68's 256-color to a standard 16-greyscale gray any day.

The T300 has two benefits over the T230 as far as I know:

better ph. book
