i bought a phone off of e bay and i called cingular and they told me that they never unlock phones and then i called t mobile to see if they could help and they said it was left up to cingular well then i kept seeing posts about t mobile being able t unlock the phone well that they could get the info from cingular better than i could so i called them back and found a guy that was going to help me but if they say they wont unlock it then what the hell am i supposed to do?
besides send it to someone that i dont know

I am afraid you just listed your options there mate.
If cingular refuse to unlock a phone that you bought second hand (what kind of service is that anyway cingular??) then you'll need to either unlock it yourself (and void your warranty in the process) or bring it to a shop that will unlock it for you (and void your warranty in the process) or send it to

to unlock but I've been tol sending off to

in the USA tends to take quite a while... mind I cannot testify to this as I don't live there anymore
Or buy a Cingular SIM card but I have a feeling that's not what you want. is it?

Service providers intentionally lock units to their own network & WILL NOT have it unlocked by them.
if you want to unlock it, you need to go to a 3rd party service center & have it done there at your own risk (their not responsible even if they damage the phone)

I am sorry but that is b*llocks. If I ad purchased a locked phone on my current contract I could have it unlocked
for free by the provider during the first year without any hassle.

i mean it wouldnt be a problem to take it to cingular to get it unlocked if there was one here but there isnt the only cell phone providers here are nextel cell one and at&t
should i just purchase the unlock cable?
and if cingular wont give the info to t mobile then thats bull shit i mean whats up with all these places wanting people to recycle phones but then they wont unlock them!
