back here in the philippines, i went to Semicon, a branch that offers firmware updates for smartphones like my p800. problem is, they're willing to upgrade my phone but i have to sign a waiver because as they've told me, there is a 50-50 chance that the phone may malfunction due to incompatibility.

is this case familiar? is it like this in other countries?

damn! i hate this! i'm too scared to give it to them because my phone might not work anymore. stupid !

thnx

The chance for a flash to go bad is always the case with any phone. As to the 50/50 chance their giving you it sounds like a load of crap. They're just trying to cover their ass. It doesn't sound like they're too confident, but chances are they'll get the job done. Worse case is that you'll have to ship the phone to SE.
