> Please Help! - T-68 & The Compaq iPAQ
Bookmark topic
I'm having a problem with the infra red between the iPAQ and the T-68. When you try and send a contact (or anything) from the T-68 to the iPAQ it says - "connection failed" on the T-68 and "Establishing connection with T68" on the iPAQ - but they don't connect!
Anyone have any ideas please??
Thanks

JHB - thanks for responding so quickly. Forgive the obvious question - but I am not sure how to change the speed to 9600. Do you have any ideas as to how best to do this please?
Thanks again.

No, its not the Ir transfer speed. An Ipaq cannot communicate with a T68 address book until you install a program called Peacemaker onto your Ipaq.
Its available from
www.conduits.com.
Once installed onto your Ipaq it updates its IR drivers to allow business cards and phonebook synchronisation.

INDEED : just wanna ask you one thing. I'm getting the IPAQ H3870, with bluetooth.
Would I have to use the Peacemaker program as well ?? Or is this only with IR.

With PocketPC 2002 it's no problem to send contacts/meetings beetween the iPAQ and T68.
Background-pictures (GIF) and ringtones works fine too for that matter.

Thanks Daniel
Does this mean too, that you dont need to install e.g. a XTNDconnect program on the Ipaq 3870, if you want to synchronize contacts.
You would need some sort of program, correct ?
I'm just asking these (maybe) stupid questions, as I'm going to get (hopefully) the IPAQ within the next week.
Its pretty hard to find here in DK,..they are simply sold out in most of the stores

Well at the moment all I use for the contacts is Ir transfer through the Peacemaker program because I'm not running Pocket PC 2002. (can't get the upgrade CD anymore in Europe.

)
Its not true synchronisation because I have to manually update any changes. If there is a better way to synchronise between T68 phonebook & iPAQ then please let me know.

I will probably get my IPAQ H3870 in week 4, they cant deliever it yet,..its out of stock
But I'll get back as soon as I've got it, and tried out the synchronization-part.
I hope I'll get it sooner.
Have thought about getting it from a UK-company instead,...One reason for not doing this,..could be that the DK-version might have some danish stuff and e.g. manuals.
Another thing is,..if something goes wrong or malfunctions.
