> 549 Euro GPRS bill!
Bookmark topic
Oh Jesus, I just got my bill from Vodafone, and for the first month that I used GPRS, I was charged 549 Euros. People, this is just an example of what Greece has become. DO NOT come to the Olympics this summer. We, the Greek people, find a way to take advantage of you, and take all of your money, and then probably kick you as we run away to the bank. I am ashamed to be living here. I have the biggest package from Vodafone, the "600" and used 511 KBs. DO NOT COME TO ATHENS THIS SUMMER, OR EVER FOR THAT MATTER!
Edit:Sorry, it was 61 MBs, not 511 KBs. Which still sucks, just like this country does.

@ceco
Whilst I might agree about the corruption of the Greek government etc; 61Meg is quite a lot...
I use GPRS almost exclusively on roaming and have to pay around 10 Euro / Meg. This is a separate bill from my domestic GPRS which is a lot cheaper. 10 Euroi / Meg would indeed translate into >600 for 60+ Meg. If you have a greek domestic account and are being charged 10 Euro / Meg then you are being ripped off, if you were roaming on the other hand...
The price of GPRS is the main weakness in functionality of my P900 at the moment, and I can't even blame SE fro it! I can only hope that this gets cheaper once 3G takes hold as currently I dare not use my P900 to surf, especially with home pages often topping 500K these days.
My sympathies

Ceco shut you mouth up my friend.
Vodafone is the best provider in Greece.
First of all GPRS is expensive all over the Europe (and in most countries in the world) not only in Greece.
If you are an -IDIOT- and dont check the charges before you surf the web thru GPRS this is what happens.
People dont hear that man…
Greece this summer is going to organize the BEST OLYMPICS EVER!
Come to Greece, is really a beautiful country you are going to meet a really great people there and roam with Vodafone GR is the best provider there.
You never going to forget this experience.

Totally agreed with MIK-3
Ceco for me you did nothing else than a stupid thing to use over 60MB for GPRS in European country…
Everybody knows that GPRS is freaking expensive all over the Europe.
Next time read and ask for the charges….
Also I agree that Vodafone is the best Greek provider and off-course I agreed that Greece is going to organize the best Olympics EVER.
I invite everybody to come and meet that incredible country and people…

Well with OTE, you can get a GPRS flat fee (40mb a month limit for 30.00 euros)
I take it you didnt have anything like this enabled. DOH!
Yellowperil (waiting for my new p900 to arrive)
As to putting on the most impressive Olympics, I am sure The Greek people want to prove that they can do it, and I'm damn sure it will be. (I just hope everything is finished in time)

It's expensive in Europe, sure, but I pay €2 for each megabyte. It's not that dear after all.
@bomberesque: What do you mean by "roaming"? Also, how can you have two providers of GPRS?
