i'm not sure, but when it's on i think the phone listens out for the magic word and when it's said, it activated the voice dialing feature instead of you holoding down a button. However i'm not sure

Here is what my american manual says about the magic word under voice control:
The voice control option lets you manage calls using your voice. With voice answer you can use words recorded for 'answer' and 'busy' to answer or send a busy signal to an incoming call. With voice dialing, you can make a call by speaking the contact's name. Speak a 'magic word' and then the name of the person you want to call, and the P900 attempts to call the person. Instead of the magic word, you can also press and hold jog dial or press the hands-free set call button.
Note: The magic word is not supported by the Bluetooth headset/car kit.....
The magic word ensures that the P900 will not call somebody whose name has just been mentioned by chance.

Magic Word is a part of the SE voice dialing system, when you set up voice dialing you are given the chance to record a "Magic Word" I normaly use "voicecontrol".
Once you have set up voice dialing and recorded your "Magic Word"
you simply activate it via the voice control menu.
When you have magic word switched on I recomend using a wired handsfree kit (Be aware it does drain the battery especialy on a P800 and you cannot use Bluetooth headsets to my knowledge) you simply say your "magic word" the phone will bleep and you can then say the name of the contact you wish to call the phone will then dial them and all without ever touching your handset! it's a great feature for use in the car. The T68i > T630 range have a much more elegant & sophisticated voice dialing system than either the P800 or P900 so if you are a heavy in car user consider using one of them rather than a P800 -P900.

I'll try to be a little more helpful:) MW is in PHONE:PREFERENCES:VOICE CONTROL you then have to tick the box you would like it to be active. WARNING!! I had it set to RING rather than CALL but even changing the MW, other words (not necessarily similar ones) can activate it. I had the P9 on my belt and dialled home without knowing and then had a 15 min ansa msg when I go home! I now only have it enabled on the headset option. This works well with my BT headset.
Hope this is more helpful than some of the other comments!!

Looks like we had the same thought at the same time.

That should take care of this issue.

Yeah MW confused me when I fist saw it & I avoided it like the plague at first but once I understood it I think it's one of the T68 T630 ranges best features. I simply do not understand why SE put such a crapy voice control system on their supposed flagship handsets, especialy when they have such a great system available on other phones. I gave back my P800 due to poor reception when at range from base stations I allways seemed to be getting cut off but problem solved again with my T610 to steal a phrase from Big Mac "Im lovin it"!
