I tried sman but did not find it necessary, as I am using switcher and stacker. when i tried uninstall it i got msg that uninstall impossible.
then i used the fileman of stacker and delete all sman's folder and the app does not appear in the uninstall menu. is now sman completely gone? please note that i had exactly the same problem with application: Philips cam, before the last update

if you deleted all the files from C: you got nothing to fear many apps never appear in the uninstall list of the phone its crazy. So a manual clean up is the last resort. Their is a clean up function in the S60 file man where it deletes redundant data and cleans up the drive no luck for the UIQ'ers though.

Youll also have a file in D/system/recogs/smanrecog.mdl.
Youre better off keeping sman and biffing switcher/stacker tho.

hi batesie
i decided to remove sman as you need the stylus to run the app
instead for switcher jog is enough

what feature are you looking for that requires you to use the stylus vs jogdial?
also, the reason you can't uninstall is due to vibration.sis. on the p900, the vibration.sis is built into the ROM.
go ahead and try this. find TWO or more apps that use vibration and they install vibration.sis. install them. you won't be able to uninstall either one of them - sort of caught in a dead-lock.
the phone is acting a little dumb here as it should actually be keeping track of which apps are using vibration and know when to finally remove it or not.
sman and edoom are two such examples.

Hi droll
The feature that requires the use of the stylus in sman is "end task", where i have to mark any running task and then to 'kill' it
on the other side (switcher) the end task and free memory features are way more easy to perform

The flushbutton is large enough to be easily pressed with a finger or thumb....

yeah but sometimes you dont want to flush all tasks - just 1 or 2. this requires pointing at thos tiny little check boxes.
