hi,
through the help of this board, i've been able to get my POP3 working on VS via CDS. unforunately, for some reason, my SMTP does not work.
instead of using domain names, i've used the following IP addresses:
POP3: 24.29.99.191, port 110 (pop-server.nyc.rr.com)
STMP: 24.29.99.172, port 25 (smtp-server.nyc.rr.com)
it seems to login to the server fine and i get upto the message where it says "Sending ", but after a few seconds, i get a "Sent failed" message.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

my comments
a) you don't need to use IP addresses for SMTP and POP servers if you specified a DNS in your data account
b) The T68m can't send/reply is the mail server it is connecting to requires SPTM authentication

the mail server does not require SMTP authentication... i'm wondering if the problem is with voicestream blocking port 25. does anyone have a free SMTP that works with voicestream reliably?
much thanks for the feedback.

Try
www.myrealbox.com, or
www.lycos.co.uk.
They work pretty good.

The nice thing about myrealbox, is you can forward your mail wherever you want, so, even if you want to send form it, the reply, even tho addressed to your myrealbox, will forward to wherever you want.
