I notice that everytime you install an application it leaves a bit of itself behind when you have unistalled it, is there any programs that check and clean the system?

No but you can delete them manually with a filemanager. It would be nice of somebody to write a system cleanup application tho.....

I know that keeps a lot of memory space at the phone or MS but don't delete them via Fileman.
If you delete these appl. installers (at the Install Folder) the application name will dissapear from the phone list in case that you want to uninstall later one of them.

Actually, I'm interested in this query for a different reason.

I did a firmware update (which I guess re-installed such programmes as Demo and Chess that I had previously removed)
I then did a Restore (which did not get rid of these programmes but DID get rid of their install files)
Now I can no longer remove these files from my P900

Aside from teh whole master reset thing (which I am loathe to do) any body any clue how I can remove these programmes without the install file fellas on there?

Just remove their respective directories (shouldn't be too hard to figure out what the names are) from under: c:\system\apps
Use a real file manager like sman or epocware pc filemanager to see the system dirs...

If you have the opposite problem (app entries that appear in the uninstall list even though they are in fact deleted), you can get rit of them by removing the .sis stub files that are left by the installer under: c:\system\install

Note that these aren't copies of the full .sis files but just the header with any install-time user choices marked.

For other apps, if you want to make sure you get rid of every part of them, you can always look at the file list for their .sis installers. There are a few tools around that can unpack/list/analyze them, and all you need to know is what the target directories for any special files are (like dlls or other resources not contained in the app directory under ?:\system\apps).
