I bought this P800 2 days ago. Read in the manual that the standby time would be about 400 hours. Since I bought a use P800, I didn't expect that, but say at least 200 or 100 hours of standby.
Now, I charged it 'til 100% put the phone on the table and went to bed. About 9 hours later when I looked at the phone, it was shut off!
When I powered it on, the battery indicator was at about 0% and I got a warning about low standby.
1. So, anyone knows whats going on?
2. If I buy a new battery, will the standby time be about 400 hrs?
3. I have a few non-signed software installed, I've heard that this could affect the stand-by time but during the night the power drained I didn't even touch it!
4. Bluetooth, IR and magic word were all off.
Thanx in advance

The batterylife gets better after 2 to 3 weeks of using your phone

How old is the battery and has it been used, charged in the optimal way?

You said you bought the phone used... well seeing as it's a P800, it could be at least 2 years old, which means that in that time, the battery could have had quite a tatering...
Rechargeable batteries only have a limited lifespan of a few hundred charges before they really do need replacing... so this may be a good idea since you have no idea how the previous owner treated the phone, nor how often it was charged...
The SE batterys seem to be quite temperamenal at best, and for under £30 (around that when I checked last) you can get your hands on a proper SE battery for the P800...
I also recall you saying the book mentioned 400 hours of standby time, you expect around 200... well you could probably expect 200 odd with a new battery, since 400 hours is totally unrealistic if it is the information as supplied in the book... I recall a lady trying to sell me an XDA2 saying that it would last 14 days on standby at least... but then she woke up!...
Also make sure that you have no running programs on the phone which could eat away at the battery in the background... once again the popular choice SMAN would aid you here, being able to end apps which you are not using...
I assume the firmware is updatebale for the P800 too, which can sometimes improve battery performance and maybe even add some new functionality (maybe thats a bit extreme!)

Hmm.
There's still warranty left.
How do I know if any applications are running in the background?
When I want to shut off a program, I only click on the application button (the one with 4 dots).
Couldn't find this in the manual.
What is SMAN and where do I find it?
Thanks for helping me!
