I can see that the "Java on T68" thing has been discussed to death here already, but when I look at the logs for my WAP site I can see something interesting: a few visitors have the HTTP user-agent "SonyEricssonT68/R201A Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0" which would indicate that they have Java (J2ME MIDP 1.0) on their phones.
Does anyone have an explanation? Are they just faking the user-agent string? Perhaps their WAP gateways are adding incorrect information? I saw some old thread here mentioning a prototype T68 with Java, I suppose it could be some of those showing up... Thoughts?

Yes, I know there are no official T68's with Java on the market, and yet there are some that appear to have it anyway.
I took a closer look at my log entries, and found 6 or 7 different users that have the SonyEricssonT68/R201A Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 user-agent. The normal one is just SonyEricssonT68/R201A (or RXXXX depending on software version). Their IP's indicate that they come from different parts of the world too: Russia, UK, Malaysia and possibly the US.
I searched for that user-agent string on Google and got a few hits from other website logs, so it's not just me seeing this.
Oh well, I'm just curious to see if anyone else here knows something about this.
