hi again,im gonna buy me a cable these days to transfer pics from my t630(when i get it back) to the PC,ive downloaded FMA already for that purpose..the question is..which cable to buy? in the sticky it says to use a serial cable with FMA but i read somewhere else on the forum that you should use usb,so which one is the right one?

i use serial, tried USB but it is more hassle as it needs drivers etc installed. I would guess though that you could use either, but in my opinion serial is the best option, as long as you have a spare serial port on your computer, and you won't need to unplug another cable everytime you want to connect the phone.

I use USB as I find it faster than the serial (which I also have) and once installed it works like a charm

I use Windows XP (Home Edition), SE DCU-11 USB-cable and fMA (floAt's Mobile Agent) and it works excellent for me.

Unfortunately I don't remember exactly what I did to make it work, but I think it was quite straight forward, close to "plug & play".

yeah drivers should come with cable, a serial port is the same as what you would plug your printer into (unless you have a usb printer)

i have both ports but i think ill get usb,anw the thing is that they may not have either one or only one kind so ill settle for whatever there is.So where exactly on the phone do you plug the cable?

its kinda strange that the charger port is used for file transfer..anw..everything at its time..ill have to get my phone back first
