Does anybody know how to remove the dialing code that appears under the operators name when the flip is closed on a P900?
It looks something like this:

vodafone UK
020

Stating that i am in London!!

Yes, in messaging accounts, go to area info and untick "cell information".

No this should work for you. Make sure you complete the selection by pressing "done" afterwards....

Some networks do not support cell id on the phone. For example, I have NEVER managed to get it to work on T-Mobile or Orange whatever phone I have used in the past, so it may not appear on your O2 phone. Pretty sure that Vodafone in fact is the only UK network which supports this feature (Dont ask me why).

Thanks very much as Mixin and Chaser said 02 might not support this. So just wondering will this number change as we move from one place to another? Also what happens if we tick the area info box as well I did nothing happened in my phone

Yeah, it will change when you move about. When i was in australia, it had the place names instead of just a number, so i thought that was pretty cool
