Is it possible to get p900 software into p800? would there be any changes? The processor speeds are the same and all ... ?

Yep. Energetic claimed that he was able to cheat the on-line update service and put the P900 soft in a P800.
We never got any proof of that...

The big problem is that the processor in the p900 is faster than the p800. Also it has a different version of os. You will always be able to find software that is compatible with both models but not all.

The processor in the P900 is
not faster than the P800's, it is identical. Neither is there a "second processor" (as mentioned in the marketing hype) - other than that also found in the P800. The only hardware changes are increased memory (mostly rom to hold the bigger firmware) and the improved screen. Plus the keypad of course, although that's more of a cosmetic change.
Essentially it's the memory that's the issue. The P9's software may need tweaking to work on the P8's screen, I don't know, but the lack of extra memory to actually store the firmware seems to be the main problem. Of course a slightly slimmed down version (without all the default junk) might work just fine, but I suspect we'll never know.
