Sony Ericsson claim a standby battery life for the P800 of 400 hours. I'm only getting 7 hours. I've taken it back under guarantee twice; the dealer sent it to Celestica (Sony's repair sub-contractor) each time but its still just as bad. The charger and two batteries have been checked twice. Is the Sony claim grossly exagerated or is Celestica not competant. Sony and Celestica have "parted company". My dealer tells me there is no chance of a replacement or refund although its still under guarantee. Can anyone help?

well standby means that you shouldn't even touch it, are you talking about talk time? or heavy usage? if so i think 7 hours sounds right, though mine lasts at least a day....

I really mean standby time i.e. I'm not even touching the phone, no talking, no games, no display, dark, nothing, not a sausage, zilch, no usage, on the desk, stationary, not touching it

Definately something wrong there then.
Are you sure there are no apps running in the background though (use SMan etc to check) as these can sometimes use a LOT of battery life even when doing nothing!

3 DAYS!!
There's no way my P9 would last that long! What do you class as heavy usage. My 'heavy usage' will only get 1day of life!

Heavy usage for me is a couple of phone calls. 12 min. internet. a picture or two. 10min. contact management. Takes about 1/3 of the battery bar each day.

If youre out of range of a transmitter aerial the battery usage is very high.
