Has anyone tried this?
I've never seen it mentioned before? Use the following code to enter the service menu then select "Service tests". Lots of tests for your phone, including quite a good display tester.
To get into the engineering menu, make sure your phone is in standby mode and not in one of the menus (new Ericssons) and press the following sequence:

Note: The "" corresponds to the left and right arrow keys. P800 / P900 users, use the joggle wheel up and down.
